The Get It Factory Process

We can't promise a best seller,
but we will definitely have an
enjoyable time trying to get there.

There are a number of steps in the publishing process at The Get It Factory.  Don’t be alarmed however, the process is in place to make sure you get the best possible opportunity to reach your goals and the vision for your book.

As you will see below, each project begins with a submission or consultation.  Submissions are explained on the submission page, but for the artists who aren’t interested or prepared to submit their work, we also offer a consultation option.

Consultations are simply an hour long discussion about your idea, your vision, your goals, and your potential road blocks.  Taking place in person, over the phone, or by FaceTime or Skype, these meetings cost just $65, and if you choose to pick one of the packages we offer, the price of the consultation is taken off the price of the package.

The consultation option is great if your book is still in the idea phase, if you need help with goals and outlines, if you are new to the world of publishing, if you have general questions about the business or viability of your book idea, or if you are irritated by past experiences in publishing process.

As we’ve mentioned, working with The Get It Factory is like joining a new group of friends.  We want our artists to work with us and each other to help everyone succeed.  Its more than a network, TGIF Publishing is also a family.

1. Your Story

Whether you submit online or choose to schedule a consultation, this is on of the most exciting parts of the process.  You’re sharing a vision, and we get the chance to help make it a reality.  We will get back to you ASAP and let you know a time frame on next steps.

Our Response

When we read your submission, or after the consultation, we will classify your project into one of these categories:
– Green Light
– Major Edits Required
– Coaching/Development Potential
– Not A Fit At This Time

In each case but the last, the classification will be delivered to you with a proposal document.

Green Light

Congratulations!
We think your project is ready to go. You will check the proposal document for the next steps and pricing options.

Coaching or Development

Don't be discouraged. Your project isn't quite ready to become a book, but that just means you get to work with us to make it the best version of your dream story. We will make a plan to fix what's needed and you'll be published in no time.

Major Edits Required

You're on the right track. We just need to work together to clean up some errors and inconsistencies. The proposal document will lay out the next steps.

Not A Fit At This Time

Your project probably isn't one we feel comfortable publishing. There are some genres and styles that don't fit with what we represent. It certainly doesn't mean you're not a great writer, it just means this project is a better fit for someone besides The Get It Factory.

pick a Package

This step is the TGIF difference.  If you want to keep working with us, this is where you will find the options on how to move forward.  If your book was given the green light packages will include options for design, layout, illustration, marketing, distribution, format, support, sales reporting, and more.  Packages are priced according to the services offered.  Packages for projects classified for Editing or Coaching/Development will also have 3-4 options for moving your project forward.

Publish Your Book!

Based on the package you chose, The Factory will get to work on getting your book ready.  We will be handling all of the services in the package you chose.  This includes the setup as well as the marketing options.  You will be provided with proofs and updates along the way.  You will have input in each and every part of the process.  This is your vision, we want the final product to make you want to continue creating.

The Life of Your Book

This isn’t a situation in which we get your book published and move on.  We want to work with you for as long as we can keep selling your books.  We want you to be a part of collaborations and feedback for other authors and stay as involved as  you would like with The Get It Factory family.  We will send you regular reports regarding marketing efforts.  You will receive a regular newsletter with information on new titles and partners.  You will have our hard working team at your disposal when you need us.

Welcome to The Get It Factory!
