    Do You Get It?

    About The Factory

The Get It Factory is a combination hybrid/traditional publisher with a focus on giving authors the best possible options to realize their vision.  We are here to help in any stage of the writing process, from story development, outlines, and work plans, to final layout, cover/interior design, publishing, marketing, and distribution.

While we publish select projects as a traditional publishing house, we chose to be a hybrid imprint as well for a few reasons. First, we truly want to help writers have a wonderful experience publishing their books. Second. it is very important for us to complete a multi-level selection process to pick the books and authors that fit our culture and community. Our name is on the back of every book we publish, and we take that very seriously. Third, we love the process of helping our authors succeed. With our network of designers, book buyers, social media experts, and more, we give our partners a leg-up in the process of getting their stories to readers.

Our founder is also an author and learned a lot of lessons the hard way, both in chasing the big traditional publishing houses, and in self-publishing completely on his own. From writing and re-writing queries more than the stories he loved, to working with expensive designers who didn’t take the time or effort to understand his vision, to an ultimate product that didn’t look and feel anything like what he wanted, he vowed to give other authors a much better experience.

We’re unlike many other hybrid publishing firms however. We won’t tell you hybrid publishers are the best option for everyone. While it’s the best option for many, and one we believe in strongly, some writers would have better experiences with other types of publishing. We also understand that all authors are in different stages of the writing process. We welcome everyone with a great idea for our community, regardless of the stage of development. We also work with a range of budgets, many other hybrid publishers have one price for all services. We understand that each of our clients is different and may need more, or fewer, services based on the vision they have for their project. Every author we choose to work with starts with a one-on-one consultation with someone from our team. After that discussion, we send three packages to choose from based on the creative vision of our new partners. We also offer some of the highest royalty percentages in the business.  We even have an imprint for kids called The Young Writers’ Lab for children with a story they’re hoping to tell.

Since we are so specific on not only the stories we represent, but the authors who create them, we are building a down to earth, supportive, creative, and kind community that truly gets it.

So the question is…Do you get it?

The Get It Factory Also Has An Amazing Team of Artists, Designers, Interns, Readers, and Consultants

    Ryan Acra

    Founder/Chief Creative Officer

Ryan grew up in a few different small Montana towns.  After his first child was born when he was a senior in high school, Ryan decided to put his artistic dreams on hold and secured a business degree from Montana Tech.

After over 15 years in the corporate world working in talent development, recruiting, and HR, he completed his first novel. With no interested literary agents or traditional publishers, Ryan used a self-publishing service and released, Sugarbeet Falls – Volume 1 – The Duel.

That experience, mixed with an undying need for an artistic outlet and the strong desire to help other artists while building a like-minded community of people who “get it,” Ryan left the comfort of the corporate world to follow his dreams while fostering the dreams of others and started The Get It Factory.

    Becky Acra

    Co-Founder/Chief Marketing Officer

Growing up in Southern California, Becky always loved to entertain. Her love of the spotlight led her to becoming a cheerleader. Cheer became her passion and as a freshman creative writing major at The University of Arizona, she secured her first cheer coach job.

Unable to shake her desire to be a part of the entertainment industry, Becky chased down a coveted internship during the first season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. While she loved her experiences and opportunities in Los Angeles, it was all put on hold as she followed her fiance Ryan to Montana.

Now married with three daughters and a step-son, Becky gets her entertainment fix building business for The Get It Factory and coaching multiple teams at the all-star cheer and dance facility she owns and operates.
